Mrs. Ruth Cummings

Mrs. Ruth Eleanor (Edgar) Cummings of Listowel passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Monday, April 10, 2023, following a brief illness in her 98th year. Ruth was born August 30, 1925, in Elma Township to William Edgar and the former Carrie Hanna. Ruth lived her entire life in the Listowel area. She is survived by sons Vernal (Laureen) of Ethel and Mark (Ann) of St. Jacobs and by daughter Lorraine of London. Ruth is also survived by sisters-in-law Anne Edgar of Listowel and Audrey Cummings of Moorefield, as well as 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered by family friend Jerry Horsburgh and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Howard Cummings (1974); brother Lawrence Edgar (2009) and son Andrew Cummings (2018).

Visitation to be held at Listowel Pentecostal Church on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Lunch to follow. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
