Mr. Donald Neil Alexander

With family by his side, Donald Neil Alexander of RR1 Gowanstown, passed away at his home on Friday, December 7, 2018, in his 97th year.

Beloved husband of the late Ellen Lucy (McIntosh) Alexander for over 74 years.

Dear father of Mary Schau, Barbara Couture (Jim), Connie Kaye (Maurice), James Alexander (Geraldine) and Peter Alexander (Mary).

Fondly remembered by grandchildren; Thea, Christine, Shawn, James, Jefri, Jaci, Randy, Kim, Patricia & several great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews.

Predeceased by brothers, Ross & William and sisters-in-law, Audrey & Reta and his parents, Emerson & Edith (Manning) Alexander.

Don & Ellen had resided on the farm where he built their house in 1974. They enjoyed over 40 years close to nature, wildlife, honey bees and the Maitland River. He was an electrician and occasionally taught electrical technology at Listowel District High School. Don was a former Chairman of the Perth County Board of Education, spending more than 20 years on school boards in Perth County and Wallace Township.

Visitation to be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 10 am until time of service at 11am at Listowel Community Family Funeral Home, Listowel, with Rev. George Russell officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery.
