Garry Schinbein

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Garry Lorne Schinbein of Ripley, formerly of Gowanstown, on April 15, 2025 at the age of 76.

Husband of 58 years to Susan (Timmerman), father of Greg & Barb Schinbein and Lisa & James Bennett. Proud Papa to Jenna (Jake), Meghan and Blake (Erin).

Brother of Bonnie (Del) Cressman, Elaine Galbraith, Sheila Schinbein and MaryAnne Schinbein; brother-in-law of Liz Schinbein, Irene (Ken) Clapperton, Ginny Meurs, Gail Timmerman, Linda Timmerman, Hilda Timmerman and Ann Timmerman. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Predeceased by his parents Lorne & Elizabeth (Amminson) Schinbein, brother David Schinbein, brothers-in-law, Robert Galbraith, Dick Timmerman, Henk Timmerman, Rick Timmerman and John Timmerman.

Known affectionately as “Schinny”, Garry had a deep passion for transportation and driving truck. He had a successful career as a Class A driver, logging over a million miles across Canada and the U.S. He was a man of many hats….Beyond the road, he found joy in his motorcycle, cruising in his golf cart and catching up with friends at the local coffee shop.

Garry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Listowel Community Family Funeral Home.

A private family “Celebration of Life’ will be held at a later date.
